about this
annual event

The RMIT Gold and Silversmithing auction has become a well known occasion within the jewellery community, drawing attention from both collectors and the public. It is a great opportunity to purchase work by established artists, as well as to acquire pieces at competitive prices from emerging makers – before they catapult into global stardom and add zeros to their price tags ; ) It is a fun night out too, with food and drinks available at the venue, to be shared with good company … in between furious bidding, of course!

All current RMIT Gold and Silversmithing students contribute by donating their works for sale, and traditionally alumni, other supportive practitioners and the broader jewellery community have also pitched in by donating jewellery and objects for the auction. The proceedings will go into producing, and will be acknowledged in, the exhibition catalogue for the graduation exhibition – to be held at Thousand Pound Bend, Little Londsdale Street, in early November this year.
